I hate hoods as an overall design for superheroes but these are great.

    good solid work

something about the feel of the inking isn't doing it for me though

Sweet! I love the motion lines on the second character.

Really nice work! I think the pose in the second one looks like he's a bit off-balance, but I love the lighting and it still works.

love them both. did you design the characters? i really like the simple but effective designs.

    Fantastic work, Hades.
Money can't buy you happiness, but it will pay for the search.

Thanks for all the comments guys!

fatman: I try to avoid hoods as well, but the client wanted a hood on the character, plus the big collar like the Spectre, so I had to make the best of it. He's loosely based on a character from the Big Bang Theory as well, hence the expression on his face and posture. I'm glad you dig it, despite the hood!

    covie: Thanks!

    Whune: Thanks!

Flegler: I wanted to give him a sense of motion as he has air powers - he should always be moving or at least look in motion. Glad you dig the effect.

ghostcat: He's supposed to be mid step and kind of floating on air, but I get what you mean. The lighting was fun to do - all on the fly with my brush.

gadgetwk: Thanks! I was given a rough outline and some reference in the form of screen caps from MMORPGs, but all designs needed to be fine-tuned (there's a bunch more I'm inking now). These are for a client's gaming group, so they're actually designed by regular folks playing role-playing games.

    Pop: Thanks man!

    More coming soon!
    Cheers, Alex

Here's a few more for the same client:

Marina Sun was supposed to be dressed like Sailor Moon and Green Scorpion was to look like the Red Beetle, so really, their costumes are not my design.
