    Question DeviantART - Rejected Prints

This is no biggie - but after having some images on deviantART for ages and ages, I suddenly got a flurry of emails saying that they had been rejected as prints because they featured trademarked/copyright characters.

Now, I don't upload big versions of my pics anyway - so it's not like I'm looking to sell prints via that site - but it just struck me as being really odd.

Surely there are tens of thousands of images on deviantART that fall into the same bracket as mine? (ie. featuring the X-Men etc)

They never really allowed it in the first place, since if you submit art in the "fan art" category you can't submit them as a print (but other categories will let you.) DA raised a fuss about licensed characters a while ago, and started forcing people to submit all works with copyrighted properties and characters under "fan art," no matter if you worked for the company, or was commissioned, etc.

Someone most likely reported your images and got them taken down from prints.

    Ah, that's it then.

I don't put loads of stuff on deviantART - so I was unaware of the fan art category.

I'll make sure I stick everything in there from now on.

    Cheers, Keith.
