Drawdan weigh in (LH)

I appreciate the comments, 2 of these peices are older but I submitted them because the were good examples of penciling, inking and color. I really hadnt taken into account the background thing, so thats my fault. I can draw them, and should prob have choosen different peices to address that. As far as the variation in style, thats intentional. I am an illustrator and cartoonist so I can slide easily, but the Geisha peice is my most recent peice and that style of rendering is my favorite and most indicative of what I would draw.

I think you'll do well here with that type of rendering. Hope you have fun climbing the ladder!

This is one of those artists who seems really good, but then I start seeing all these little things that bother me and make me wonder if he knew what he was doing. The first piece, for example: The kid's feet look like they're located -behind- Hulkom (or Venulk or whatever! -awesome and scary concept, btw!-), and I too find the cropping in the third piece disconcerting.

I know we're big on backgrounds here -especially in the higher weight classes-, but I'm with Juggs in feeling you would slaughter a lot of the middle-weights. The details on that geisha costume, for instance, isn't something I see a lot of MWs being able to replicate or compete with.

I'm gonna go with my gut and vote LHW. If you end up there and you get overwhelmed, you can always swallow a bit of pride and ask to be demoted. Or, you can take your lumps and use them as incentive to get better, it's up to you!

In my brain, since the outlying vote was in light and not heavy, I would say the rank should be Middle. But that's me. Otherwise I think we should ask Zoltar.

I say Drawdan and Hangman (the one who voted LW) should have a one day draw off battle. If Drawdan wins he is LHW if he loses he is MW.

Thx Juggertha, nice thing to say. Ive been drawing for fover 30 years,... proffesionally for 20 of that, I don't beleive I belong in the LW class eighther, but when it comes down to it, I just want to draw and learn so I really don't care much what class I land in.
