I've really been struggling to find a good book that deals more in depth with picture composition, (object placement, flow, color, etc.). One I do have is, "Picture This: How Pictures Work" by Molly Bang but it wasn't really satisfying. I think there's a little section on it in one of Jack Hamm's books too. I was hoping for something more comprehensive though. So are there any books you would recommend. Composition is something I've never really understood well and would like to improve on. Any advice would be appreciated.
Try to find:
"The Complete Famous Artist Course(1960)" i think it has a useful part talking about composition.
"Creative Illustration" by Andrew Loomis, quite a good book on composition and etc.

I just bought and read "Framed Ink", and its possibly the best nuts and bolts examination of composition in storytelling I've ever seen. Highly recommended: Framed Ink.
^I'll second that Framed Ink was pretty awesome. Next time your at the book store just look around in other sections, books on Photography, Design, and Film Making are gonna have lots on composition.

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for all the suggestions. I was able to find, "Framed Ink" at a store to look through and picked up. It's been helpful. I'm still looking for the other books and going through the links. Thanks for all the recommendations.
