JUNE PUMMEL DAILIES Join Sketchbook's Pummel Training Camp

How good would you be if you really used an entire month to work on your monthly?

I want to find out. So here is the challenge:

Upload the results of 20 to 30 minutes of work on your monthly every day from the date your challenge is accepted to the 25th. Post pics or scans of any studies, roughs, sketches, and thumbnails that you do. In return you'll get critiques on your work and more sets of eyes helping you refine your work. And you'll have a weapon to beat back the procrastination that we all struggle with.

Sure you may be giving up some initiative to your opponent, but if you can't take someone down working every day to do your best work for a month then, initiative wouldn't have won you that battle anyway.

So, are you ready to train? Ready to test your potential? Are you brave enough to put your process out there for everyone to see? Are you tough enough to get a sketch in every day? Are you ready to be the best artist that you can be?

Join up! The Training Camp is accepting fighters.

And if no one takes me up on this I'll be posting a process sketch a day and a chicken every day for a month

Me too... but the problem is that I don't work EVERY day even under ideal, non procrastinating conditions... I take on other fights, and I only draw one pic at a time... Perhaps just a check in, was this a skip day? Did you draw? Etc?

I was considering doing something like this anyway, though not to this extent, so I'm with you. Great idea.

I'm in the same boat with you Aabh, but here are my questions to myself and you:

What would happen if I did work every day? Would my fingers spontaneously combust? Would I begin to channel Jack Kirby? Would I wind up with pretty much what I would have had if I'd just waited to the last minute? Would my work be better or just lack spontaneity? Can I even be dedicated enough to make it to the scanner once a day, every day for a month?

I'm willing to use June to change up my process and give myself a chance to answer all of these questions.

... I just really hope my fingers don't spontaneously combust they're the only ones I've got and I'm quite fond of them.

I see your point I guess, since I have a week trip to Mt. Rushmore in the middle of June, I'd be out of scanner range (Sounds like Star Trek ) for a week... so I don't think I can join THIS one... but it's a good enough idea that I might join the next!

Great idea but what if the process includes many studies and false starts? Anyway, I wanna join in .
