This movie has no business being this good. U could see the twist coming if only for the color of will smiths skin but it was still satisfying/touching. Loved bill hader N scherzingers rack in this. Not necesarily in that order.

this movie was f*****kin awful, imho, Josh Brolin was great though! I'd love to watch a whole movie about him busting aliens in the 60s

I am also glad they got the f**kin retard alien from 'Dreamcatcher' to reprise his role as the most useless alien ever seen on film,

this movie had no celebrities in it? wtf? didn't they spend like a ton of cash on it?

why didn't he just go back in time to the day before the dude broke out of jail and cap his ass on the moon prison? WEAKPLOT

It was fun for me. There are those kind of problems with every movie that deals with time travel so it doesn't bother me much.

Time travel doesnt work like that. Since he was already in a deviated timeline he cant go back to when he escaped the prison since that doesnt happen anymore. He has to go back before the point of divergence which is before K was killed.

    Spooko u noob.

Ok then, if there is only one time line how does J remember K? We could argue that little oprhan James remembers watching K die as a child? But J clearly references K as his partner, meaning J is the only one who could have gone back in time to the day before the worst villain in a movie I have seen, recently, broke out of moonjail and killed him

also, J could have gone back in time to any point in earth's history well before his confrontation with K in 1969 and killed him then too, giving him a significant amount of wiggle room to accomplish his goal,

theres an easy answer to all of this. Time travel isn't possible

I think the only plot hole that really, REALLY bothered me, was the most screamingly obvious one:

They are the Men In Mother****ing Black. They police intergalactic aliens on and beyond Earth. If they need to put the MacGuffin in orbit, WHY IN THE HOLY **** DO THEY NEED TO GO TO CAPE CANAVERAL TO DO IT?!

They've got aliens all over Manhattan! Presumably they have access to SOMEONE WHO CAN GO TO SPACE. Shit, I recall there was at least one flying saucer parked at the New York State Pavilion
only five years earlier!! (would have made a nice shout-out to the first MiB film, too).

The rest of it I can deal with. Loved Brolin, Will Smith was fun, alien jokes were cute, Andy Warhol was hilarious. Definitely better than MIB II.

Ehhh... he knew that Boris would be at Coney Island on a certain date (if not at an exact time, and he was delayed by the cops), so it made a certain amount of sense. Boris might not have even been on the planet for very long before that point, though they didn't address that.

Its called a time travel paradox. It only make sense as a storytelling device. Its not so much different from BTTF with slight rule changes:

1-when hippie dude said J was there/remember stuff he was talking about adult J having been there (but at that point he doesnt know it yet because it hasnt happen to him yet. basically J knows about K because he was also involved in that timeline divergence.
2-the whole timeline paradox works like so: lets call original timeline history A. Timeline B is the one where boris kills K. These timeline exist as different dimensions/possibilities. THATS why they have that dude who see different timelines at same time: to establish this concept as the main theme of the movie. So when boris changes the past by killing K he creates a TEMPORAL divergent timeline. Temporal because it exist as a loop where his race invades earth n J is aware of boris meddling with the timestream. Lets call this timeline B1 because at this point it can still be changed with J going back in time. So J goes back in time to timeline B. Within that point in timeline B, future B1 hasnt happen yet with the divergent point being the cape canaveral encounter. If they fail we end up with future B. Original timeline A happens whereby K survives but spares boris. But we'd end up with *the beginning of the movie so J makes K kill boris which is the movies ending: timeline C.

So anyways, if u buy into the whole time paradox argument, the premise is that altering events to change future timeline is dependent on specific events. Just like in BTTF all the future altering hijinks have to happen at a specific date, even slight deviation has major ramification, hence we got that alien dude who makes a big deal if K forgot to tip.
