The story was well-written and very easy to read, but just didn't interest me because, at the end of the day, it's a story about ants - that's not a criticism, it's just that I'm not the target audience for a story like this. Really, I don't have any negative crits.

EDIT: Also the story was smoothly written - you wouldn't know that two people wrote this - you guys seemed to really work well together here.

    "White Out"

Interesting idea for an apocalyptic tale. The story starts off with momentum, but seems to stop cold with the Singapore part of the story (although there's some great imagery in this part). Some of the internal narration felt too florid also.

I liked the way you showed how the contagion affected different parts of the world - a technique that works pretty well for this type of contest with this type of genre.

cbikle: thanks for the crit. What do you mean by "internal narration:" panel descriptions or the dialogue of off panel characters? As far as pacing is concerned, it was not a conscious concern of mine; I was more focused on how each section worked independently, what issues they covered, and whether they had good internal rhythm.

    Nanopocalypse by Chris2.0 and BenHat

I liked it - fast paced, clearly written, although the (human) dialogue could've used a little touching up to sound more real.

Interesting ending, which is sort of a new beginning for humankind and nano-humankind.

Congrats to Shaun and Zepster for their winning entry, "Operation; Nightfall" and congrats to everyone who participated.

The next co-writer challenge will be posted as soon as Shaun & Zepster submit a theme for it.

Thanks! Three-way tie but we'll take the W on a technicality. Because Zepster came up with the main idea I deferred to him to select a topic. However he's in a different time zone so it may take him a few hours to get my email. If I don't hear back from him or see anything by tomorrow I'll post a topic to keep things on schedule.

Thanks again for all who voted, it was a really good bunch of entries this month.

Great competition this month - I'm a bit vague on the technicalities but the win is very nice considering the standard of the other entries.

I've pinged Shaun with my thoughts on a theme but am leaving the final decision to him ( BTW ideas might be one thing but execution is quite another - so lots of credit to Shaun for elevating it into a winning entry ).

Looking forward to doing this again...

Technically, it was a tie, but your entry was the first one posted and that's usually what I use in breaking a tie.

Space Opera genre mash up! Your story is set in space but must include elements of some other disparate genre, be it a Western space story like Firefly, a Feudal space story like Dune, or maybe it's pirates, film noir or sword and sorcery. The more unusual combinations the better!

Congrats Shaun and Zepster! It may have been "only on a technicality", but you know what? Fights don't always end in a knockout. Sometimes you have to go to the judges to get the decision(In this case, cbikle). If we all got the same amount of votes, I figure we roughly put out the same quality of work. You two did it quickest, so I'd say it's a deserved win, and also a fair way to break a tie. So again, congrats.

Also, if the Space Opera genre mash up is the official theme for the the next duo competition, I'm already excited haha. Great idea.
