Perhaps Pop and Joey could do a "hand gestures" challenge - I have a feeling we'd get some interesting ones. lol

This poll is almost decided, but let's get a few more votes in here.

It'll actually be interesting to see how some of the Battle Artists compete with the one month deadline. While the deadlines are a month, I never spent anymore time on my monthly pieces than I did for the original tournament, which was 10 day deadlines.

That's a ridiculous comment....time shouldn't matter? Thanks for voting! I'll face you soon enough.

I love that idea! We'll have to make it traditional pencils/timed/ hand gestures.....just so skill levels aren't in question....lol.

I'm saying you either know how to draw hands or you don't know how to draw hands. To say that spending a month on a piece is the reason why you drew accurate hands, as opposed to 4 hours being the reason you didn't, is absurd.

You either can draw a hand or you can't, and time should not be a constraint. Especially 4 hours of time.

I hear ya.... I haven't started mine piece yet for this months, but there is plenty of time left. Just been busy with other things is all but there are a lot of hours left before the 25

Your concern is understandable, Pop, but I thought the purpose of the Weigh In was to base your vote on the 3 pieces offered..?

As for my vote, from what I can see, the anatomy is pretty sound. There are a few minor issues here and there, but nothing that jumps out at you on that front. What's slanting my vote is the fact that his lack of line-weights indicate his tendency to use color as a crutch, imo. If his coloring was great, it would more than make up for it, but the colors are too saturated for my tastes, and inconsistent with the light sources.

The biggest kicker for me though is the compositions. They're all too dull, too symmetrical - even in the middle piece, where the guys cape(?) mirrors the guy on the opposite side, nearly dividing that shot into equal thirds.

That said, I'm gonna go with MW, though if he lands in LHW, that wouldn't be far off, imo. I think he walks that fine line between the two at this point.

You're right, but that link was posted, I followed it and...well, what's done is done. Seeing the pencil work, though, just reaffirmed what I had kinda guessed in the first place from looking at the three pieces presented here.
