This was lack luster for a championship match, I guess you guys had better things to do. Voted Solace.
It just rubbed me the wrong way man, and it's not even about busting my balls. I would have been fine with the comment had you left out the presumption that we had 'something better to do'. I participate in this contest to relax and have a good time, the rest of my time is spent busting my own balls to make a living, which I do 7 days a week, all the damn day. My piece may not be up to championship standards, and I accept that. I'll take whatever criticism I get and I never be-grudge other penciljackers' opinions, you're all entitled to it. But to suggest, unknowingly, that I don't care about this competition and I am being dismissive of it, I take as a personal insult. Bust my balls all you want, say my stuff is crap, I don't care, but don't insinuate that I'm taking a shit on PUMMEL as if I don't care about it. I can't speak for Solace, but I'm sure that he doesn't dismiss PUMMEL as something minor either.
Kinda hard to vote on, I like the composition in Solace's a lot, but Basil has a slightly more complete looking drawing.
Also don't be too hard on Morg, he hasn't had his daily diet of lumber and women today
I went with Basil. I like the design and the lines have a nice flowy/curvy-ness to them.
Solace this is an interesting direction you just didn't go far enough with it.
There are only two kinds of artists: Bad artists and bad artists who refuse to quit.

I'm gonna watch my P's and Q's from now on, sometimes I go off the cuff without thinking, now gimme a kiss!
I can't stay mad when there are kisses involved, as long as they're soft, gentle, and passionate. We cool now.
Gonna vote Basil for the more complete piece. Even though it's simplistic, I can see the characters have consistent proportions and a successful stylistic look.
At this point, composition is all Solace has to go on, and it's not really working for me here.
