I voted middle weight, anatomy needs work, coloring needs refinement, would have liked to have seen more varied elements instead of basic figures.
VOLTAGE-RAYN3R is coming over from BA to give us a taste of how they school on DA. Let's give him a pummel welcome.
What do ya figure, fellas?

here check some old stuff
the stuff you see is the very NEW and with limited time.
Yeah, it's always tricky picking the pieces that best represent your skill.
Although we usually have a month for our main challenges, we often have very short street fights. So don't focus too much on how much time ya had to do these.
Instead, when possible, try to post up stuff that shows depth. Backgrounds, multiple characters. Interaction between elements. This are the things that push an artist from the middles and into the Lightheavies.
Really though, where ya land is not all that important. It's how many heads ya bash in the way up that counts.
Glad to see ya dipping your toes in our waters.

I definitely like the other two pieces more than what you chose in the first post. Lack of backgrounds will always hurt you in weigh ins. If you don't show em in your weigh in it's very difficult to be voted in as anything but middleweight. Those two other pieces have nice backgrounds, better compositions and show a better indication of what your final product looks like and would definitely land you in the Light-heavies. Seems like a pretty big departure style wise too.

I disagree on the anatomy, I think the anatomy is solid. Linework needs some variation, but it's not a flaw for this fighter. Color is good. I like the lighting, choosing to backlight is risky, and this fighter does it well!
The first and third piece I think I could do... but that middle piece... hmmm.... That feels very LHW and it's clearly above my skill level. Which puts this fighter at upper Middle, lower Light Heavy. I'm going to go Middle because I'd rather see the fighter win a lot than lose a lot right off the bat.
As Juggertha said: It's not a BAD thing to not be fighting with the LHW's or HW's right off the bat. I have to say, this month I'm very grateful I'm not a LHW, the entries are ALL above my pay grade![]()

@juggs appreciate excited to get started. looking forward to enjoy a month on a battle piece.
@bps
You're heavyweight?? BPS your anatomy also needs a LOT of work!(especially your sequential's) and your manga studio tones very weak. You must be the jobber of the heavyweights. thats strange even jugg's stuff is stronger then yours and he is light heavy.
@aabh appreciate very well said matey.
(Sorry to double post) I just clicked through on your other pieces, Rayn3r... I can see that you were holding back a little hereI still hold to my original statement, though: I still think you are better off getting dug in at MW level and then moving up to LHW. I'm glad you posted THESE pieces, though, the other two, though good, don't show your full range of capabilities
