No one actually visits my DA page, so I can't pimp anything. I'm trying to get my rl friends into it, but most of them would rather spend their time on pieces that they can gallery sell, and shoot me down.
itís as if he figured that sheer repetition would wear them down, forcing them to submit to his strange, incompetent genius.
Pummel: W 11 | L 5 | KO 8
Just announce that the winner of each match gets the original artwork of the loser in title matches for now. I think quite a few people will start coming back in and it may draw some new blood into the fray.
I had an inspired idea!
There's an art store a few blocks away from me. They have a bulletin board (an actual, physical, cork bulletin board. Archaic, i know...). I was thinking of whipping together a postcard-size... thing describing PUMMEL and what it's all about. However, my design skills aren't the hottest, so if anyone here thinks they can cobble something together in the next day or so, post it here and I'll print it up and post it tomorrow =)

I love the idea of prizes. Would most of you / any of you be willing to ship off your pieces?
Also, I think chrismcjunkin made up a pummel poster a whole back. 'teas pretty cool if I recall.
I used to post a reminder in the break room every month early on when Pummel first started to get people involved in voting at least. I stopped because it started feeling like Spam. Breakroomers are breakroomers and tend to stay there it seems.
I would have no problem shipping off a losing piece to an opponent. I would of course try my hardest to win so as not to have to do that. That sentiment would probably spread and the championship bouts at least would bring out the best. And if someone pulls a no show in order to try and get out of having to ship a piece to the winner then they should be banned from PUMMEL altogether unless they get a pass by the Champion they are facing and the commissioners.
I think in general that will be a tough sell and something that would be difficult to implement. I'd have no problem shipping off a piece if I lose but I can easily see ill will happening over something like this being expected. People are flaky enough as it is simply posting art by a deadline.
May actually be something that keeps people from participating rather than the other way around.
Ha! Yeah, there's that too...
