in all reality, with the writer, i don't have to think about details, without the writer, i spend more time stressing out on the details, because there's too much room for error, which is attributable to the wide range of standards, concerning a page layout.
it's just too hard for me to believe that a layout that i pick, is acceptable to readers.
as an artist, you got to push yourself, and try out new things. Personally, I feel somewhat like you. I'm terrified about what people will think when they see my panels. But you can't evolve unless you try. So as so many others have told you; Talk things over with your writer. if he doesn't want to change his dictatorship, tell him to find another penciller.

it is sooo much better when there is a true TEAM effort
update-we should be starting UL issue 2, when the witer gets back to Fresno, at the summer's end.
