There are some fundamental flaws to both of these, but IMO, the only one to really show a "vs" was Walril.

Walril, keep at it, man. You've got a lot going for this. Not sure I'm digging the cape "out-racing" the body though.

Yeah. It frustrates me because in my head I see it, but there is something lost in the translation. I really thing I need a life drawing class.

Yeah, that'd help a lot. But even those have their limits. I found that they are great for "straight on" practice, but for drawing from extreme angles, maybe you should consider art figurines or something.

Vote for Artonstuff. I liked the fact that Walril went for an action pose but it wasn't as successful as it could be, although Artonstuff's drawing was very static he did have colors and both characters were prominent in the drawing so i had to go with him.

This was Hulk vs. Supes....Walril brought the action, so that's who I'm voting for.

Artonstuff: This is a funny piece! It made me smile a lot! I love the concept! The colors really make it pop. It's also a great start! The anatomy is solid for the Hulk! Though not so much for Superman: Superman's near arm has too much upper arm and his eyes are crooked (I know you were going for the cocked head thing, but the rest of the head isn't following the lines, so it looks like the eyes are out of alignment). That's not the over-riding issue with the piece; what really got you was line weight: The linework is pretty much uniform in thickness, which gives the impression that a magic marker was used to ink the piece (Certainly not the impression I think you are after ). I've seen uniform line used as a style, but it's really hard to pull it off convincingly (Because uniform line is so often associated with beginning inking). My recommendation (Take it with a grain of salt ): Go light on the lines anywhere you want "light" to be: under the eyes, on the tops of the head, shoulders, upper body, etc. Then use the really thick lines to "outline" your subjects (To make them pop from the background). When you bring lines in from that outline, make them taper off. Try to avoid using lines inside the outline that are the same size AS the outline (They should always be significantly smaller). Also let your lines taper to a point if you can, don't let them end in a round tip. Most artists (traditionally) use a brush to ink lines, so the lines will start with a thin point and then get thicker (Like a brush would do), so if you are using a computer, you might want to do "gradient lines", where you "ink" your piece with a tiny brush, then go back over it with a thicker brush (but leaving a tip places) and go over it again and again. Alternatively, go back over your lines with an eraser and "chisel" the ends so they look like they have a variance in the line width (When I ink on a computer, I go back with an eraser over MOST of the line so it isn't uniform anywhere ).

Walril: This is a good piece as well! I laughed at (with?) this one, too! Your anatomy is good, foreshortening is also good, and your linework and shading is solid. The issue I have with it is... well... the lead cape. It has to be lead as it's flying out ahead of the man of steel... o.O I think you were hoping to illustrate that Superman isn't trying to fly away from the green beastie of anger, but it looks almost like he's falling back toward the Hulk. My recommendation? Collapse the cape behind him like a wet towel. When Superman flies, his cape is like a wing, flat out behind him, spread out so you can see the "S" clearly, when he is being beaten (As he was with Doomsday), his cape collapses into a cloth column. It's still going to be pointed at the Hulk, but it won't be spread out like a wing.

Gads... I rambled on. Take my suggestions with a grain of salt, unless it helps, then take it with a grain of pepper... I guess... o.O Anyway, I hope that helps.

The shame of it is: I think this is what AoS really draws like (there are enough errors to make me think it wasn't really traced), It shows real promise... (I wrote my critique before I found out AoS left )

I was trying to make it look as if he was coming towards the reader and that causes the cape to fly back. I didn't pull it off though.
