Wow....I leave Penciljack for a bit and miss out on all the excitement! It's always interesting when we get a "Selkirk" or "Donnstar" on the boards.

Here's a pic I drew a long time ago. Can't remember if it ever saw the light of day, but it was fun to draw....

    Good.

Now, let's get the art rolling again.
Why were you guys so hard on this guy? Even if he traced it. So what? Who is it really hurting? Himself? What's the problem? Sometimes this boards seems sooo conservative.
Any time someone comes on that doesn't fit into your little box you all gang up and spit acid in that person's face. I've seen it time and time again. And then you all chuckle about it when they leave.

You guys should be ashamed of yourselves.

@hydekomiksink:Really awesome Hood. I've always loved Space Ghost's look.

@Scmarooney: Awesome job on that Hood. Nearly exact to what I picture in my head.

CD, I will answer even though it should be obvious. I totally agree with you, I couldnt give a damn if he traced something. It was patently obvious. The reason the people who are upset (and I can see that you arent but you should be) is that the guy wasted a LOT of time of some generous people here who were willing to critique his real work in good faith and he threw the traces in the mix while TAKING CREDIT FOR THEM. That is the ONLY problem I have. If he had not INSISTED over and over that he hadnt traced them, then of course there would be no problem. I, and I dont think I am alone here, dont particularly enjoy being lied to while the liar sits back and congratulates himself on how good he is at lying and pats himself on the back about how he is fooling people on the Internets. Does it cost me anything? Yeah. I am STILL having to spend time explaining myself over this nonsense (inexplicably since my feelings on this have been posted two times previously.) But I guarantee it will be the last time.

    Really, CrazyD?

No one was forcing anyone into a 'box'. If you were paying attention, he was seeking advice...he wanted to be in the detestable 'box'.

When an artist comes to this board saying he wants to learn, yet posts traced pic after traced pic in the face of friendly help and criticism as 'original art' and 'look i tried real hard', he wastes everyone's time. Including his. You may not care if someone wastes your time, but there are quite a few of us whose time on this board is limited and our efforts could be better spent on someone who actually WANTS to learn.

Passing off traced work as your own is not accepted here. It never was, and never will be. If that makes people who abide by it conservative as a negative connotation, so be it. And no one should be ashamed of anything. For once, the entire group didn't devolve into poo-flinging apes, chasing the interloper out of the jungle. Juggs had the most patience of all, reminding him that people wouldn't let him get away with the swipes at every post, and no one did. The only huff came from AoS when his constant ruse was seen through.

So gather up your mother hen skirts and shame AoS with your squawking instead. The rest of us will find the strength to struggle on, I'm sure.

You know I think I should add here (but again, to close readers it will already be obvious) that you, CrazyDiamond, share some responsibility here. Rather than just letting that trace go, as everyone else did, you decided to come in here and give him credit for "an awesome copying job" (or words to that effect). It was that post in particular, and his followup reply of "yeah I am really good at copying and I didn't trace it, nope!" that finally sent me over the edge. Until that moment, I had already decided not to bother with him anymore, but that was the last straw.

    Thanks, Adam! Appreciate the feedback!
@Hyde: More great drawings this week! Dig your take on the Hood and I like the Space Ghost! Nice job!
@Dann: Nice job on that Galaxy Trio drawing, thanks for posting in the WSG this week!

And I thought I'd try for two topics with one drawing. Here is Hong Kong Phooey fighting Chuck Norris! Just to make clear I did look at some Google image thumbs of BOTH HKP and Mr. Norris before drawing this :
