I like Archer a lot. It's good to draw to - the actors are sharp enough to be funny without even watching it. One of the best voice casts currently working, IMHO.

Tim & Eric is garbage, and I'm glad to hear that it's so hated. I thought it was a cultural thing.

I always just assumed that people who like Tim & Eric were the same people who like Dane Cook. Sure, the performances can be funny (Ferrell, Galifinakis, Reilly), but these guys could read html code and make it funny. It's just not my thing, comes across as bad improv.
Like, I get it, it's SUPPOSED to be bad. That's okay, as a one time joke or even as a running gag through something else to give it context or contrast. I've heard this joke already guys, can we get on with the REAL show now?
The comparison to Kauffman is a fairly acurate one. Most people either loved him or hated him. One characteristic that sets Andy apart from Tim & Eric however is the fact that he DID occasionally display real talent (via impressions or characters, and having an uncanny knack for making the audience say "Is this real?" when the mere fact that it was Andy should have clued them in to the fact that no, it is not).
To me, a funny show has a funny script, and these guys have never had one. I'd bet that if I could actually sit through every show and every skit, I could probably put together one decently funny show, but it seems like they just sit down and write whatever pops into thier head and film all of it and try to make it interesting by adding misplaced video stutters and crappy graphics. They're just standing there jingling thier car keys in front of you as you sit there filling your diapers and grin at them around your pacifiers.

I do believe the show could have SOME merit however. For instance, watching an episode should be required after students take thier SATs, and your reaction to it should count as 60% of your total score. If you laugh, you have to start over in the 2nd grade.
"Sorry Sarah, you ACED all the math and such, but there's just no way we can let you into even a community college at this point. For one thing, we noticed you keep scratching your asshole and then smelling your finger, and then you scraped gum from under the desk and put it in your mouth with that SAME finger. And lastly, you were giggling all the way through that PURPOSELY awful television program. We're going to have to put you back into 2nd grade until you can learn to act like a human rather than like the chimpanzees who apparently raised you."

So go ahead and bring me the hate Tim & Eric fans, because that's my opinion of the show and my opinion of you. I even invite you to attempt physical violence upon my person, because you probably won't even be capable of figuring out which end of the knife to point at me anyway.
It's not your fault, it's mine, because I forgot you are stupid.

I've seen threads about Tim and Eric in other forums before, and this's the one thing I've always noticed:

People either love it or they completely hate it, kind of like how there are some jokes that you either find hilarious or not funny at all.

The Big Lebowski is like this. People either love The Big Lebowski and think it's one of the greatest comedies of all time, or they hate it. It's completely polarizing in that way.

Only the people who hate Tim and Eric always tend to be dicks about it.
