Is there ANY room on the Adult Swim lineup for a funny show?

That was funny but Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job is funny too. Thats not really a parody they would do, they parody obscure stuff like early 90's computer infomercials or public access music competitions or whatever and those things actually exist! The show has so much talent on it I don't know why people hate it so much. You've got David Cross, Bob Odenkirk, Galifinakis, Maria Bamford, etc. I don't laugh at everything T&E do but T&EASGJ was the best thing they have done and it was great.





But getting to the original topic, I do enjoy most of what AS puts on, comedy wise. That San Diego show is the one I like the least. China, Il started out kinda lame because it wasn't what I expected and how can you barely feature Babycakes in it? It's gotten much better though. How do most of you feel about Xavier: Renegade Angel? I hated it at first but then I started to notice that they throw jokes at you every single second and they are pretty funny. It's got to be the most tightly written show EVER.

I remember the commercials for Xavier adding a cool vibe to adult swim, I'd try to watch the show but couldn't really get into it.. adultswim was great during that time period though

& I agree about not laughing at everything Tim & Eric do, I don't think all of it is particularly meant to be "funny"

I've seen threads about Tim and Eric in other forums before, and this's the one thing I've always noticed:

People either love it or they completely hate it, kind of like how there are some jokes that you either find hilarious or not funny at all.

The Big Lebowski is like this. People either love The Big Lebowski and think it's one of the greatest comedies of all time, or they hate it. It's completely polarizing in that way.

Only the people who hate Tim and Eric always tend to be dicks about it.

This is a bad comparison in that I know people who don't care for The Big Lebowski but it's nowhere near the same. I love The Big Lebowski and most people get excited when I want to pop it in and watch it. Others are like "Meh. I'm probably not going to watch but go ahead."

I at one point was so confounded by why the Hell Tim and Eric were on the air I did an experiment to make sure it wasn't me. I brought people at work into a room individually and put T&EASGJ on the TV. This is not a joke. I really did this. Not only did nobody find it funny, four out of five people got so annoyed by it, it generated a new prank for me. I have snuck into the living room at the station while some of them were napping and put that show on and moved the remote. I have had people wake up and start swearing loudly at me for putting that sh!t on and then leaving the remote out of reach.

That by the way is the only fun thing about T&E... you can use them to REALLY piss other people off.

Anyway this is why I can't even begin to accept a comparison of T&E to The Big Lebowski.

Oh and just because celebrities go on a show and act just as stupid as Tim and Eric doesn't make it a good show.

Urinal shower is the closest thing you've put up so far to almost making me laugh...

I hated it until the janitor came in and flipped out... and then like seconds before I cracked a smile they started doing that loop and I got annoyed again and then I was so annoyed they couldn't get me back at the end.

It's like they sit and go "What's funny? OH I know... (blank) is funny... Now how can we take it all the way through funny to the other side where it's just irritating!"

I just can't get into their forced comedy. It's terrible.

I think SuperJail & Venture Bros are the best shows on Adult Swim, and they don't churn them out so fast that they feel diluted. Just enough to fill my appetite! JAILBOT ROCKS!
