I know, right! Just as he started working on the "Soul Train" biopic too. It was going to be "54" for the first syndicated show in America. Thoughts and prays to his family. Total bummer.
R.I.P. Don Cornelius
Creator and Host of Soul Train, is dead at the age of 75 from an apparent suicide.
Thank you for everything you've done Don
Love, Peace and SOUL!

2 suicides in 1 week. Since the saying I've heard is "people die in 3's" I'm wondering if there'll be a suicide trifecta.

R.I.P. Mr. Cornelius.
Money can't buy you happiness, but it will pay for the search.
W T F man, what's up with these old dudes going out hemmingway style (hunter thompson as well)
RIP
I always had the feeling that Don Cornelius had an increasing disdain for rap and hip-hop; I think he was expecting the African-American music scene to evolve/extend from Motown.
Don C always struck me as a classy, old-school guy who was become increasingly disenchanted with the music on his show (say from 1989 -on) and having to interview the new artists of the time (especially the early gangsta-rappers).
EDIT: The increasing frequency of violence at the Soul train Awards probably didn't help.
What a way to start Black History Month.
RIP Don. Hope your dancing in that soul train line in the sky.
I havent seen soul train since Sunday afternoon's in the 1980 on WGN,RIP Man.
