PUMMEL Weigh in: C. William Russette (M)

Okay, so I was in PUMMEL when the thing started up then left after a few matches. Never left the Lightweight Division. Now I am returned and rather figured I should still be in the LW division. It has been suggested that I weigh in again and see who votes how.

So here we go!

Hmmm... while there is a bit of an amateur feeling in these, you're certainly no light-weight. The only light-weight I think would give you a hard time is Reggie, and he's cruising his way up to the middles anyway. You may have to work on more dynamic compositions or better shading to compete there, but with work like this, you'd sail through the LWs and end up in the middles in like 3 months anyway, so that's where I'm voting ya.

Upper Light, Lower Middle. Going with Light because I think a few guys there can give you tough matches. If this was a year ago or even 6 months ago I'd say middle without hesitation though.

You don't seem to have a handle on backgrounds. So I vote Lightweight.

I'm referring to the backgrounds you're drawing. The brick walls aren't convincing.

For the cemetery:
I don't get a sense of depth. The shadows aren't consistent. Are those little mountains or dirt from a grave about to be filled? It's not clear and little mountains don't make sense.

I agree with everyone here - high Light, low Middle. Good rendering skills, but some major work needed in tying it all together.

Backgrounds might be my greatest shortcoming in art. Kinda why I jumped back into PUMMEL. To push myself.
