Idea for additional writing challenge: The Crossover

The basic idea of this would be a writing challenge where two writers would work together on the same story, maybe one writer handling the 1st part of the story with the other acting as co-writer and in the 2nd part of the story, the writer/co-writer roles would be reversed with both parts of the story having the 5 page limit rule (10 pages total) and adhering to all of the regular contest rules where everyone would vote for the story of the writing team they enjoyed the most.

I figure the deadline on this would be about 6 months (or earlier if all the teams finish ahead of schedule).

First off, is this something that you guys would be interested in and if so, would there be other/better ways to do something like this ?

Would you want the teams to be decided at random or let people choose their partners ?
