Honestly, with your style I think color would be important than shading. I could definately see your stuff popping more with some really strong and bright colors. Just my 2 cents.
Any suggestions on how I can make this pop.

That is exactly what I was going to say. Additionally maybe some heavier line-weights "under" the objects? (That might be too crude though...)
Really good contrasting colors would do the trick though I bet.
Yeah, I third what has already been made clear. Forget about shading. Instead "Google" Peter Max!![]()

thanks. His work seems cool.
Still, if anyone has any tips for shading, I would appreciate it.

you could start by using your line weights. Determine a light source, then make thinner lines where the light hits it directly, thicker lines where it doesn't.
Once you've mastered that, I'd move on to hatching. Or maybe spotting blacks.

You "only" need to learn to think and see volumes when drawing, and to then determine a light source. Right now your drawings look very flat, thus making it very difficult to put shadows anywhere.
With your current style, a flat coloring is way to go IMO. Shadows would only hamper the readability of your drawings.
