I hesitate to suggest this, but perhaps bringing it in somewhere might help you. I mean, to try to type things out and trouble-shoot, it takes quite a bit of time. Sometimes, it's much easier for a geek to do it in person.

Ace - it sounds like you're now entering into a long learning curve that is really understanding you tools. eg. you computer. It's not always the easiest thing to get your head around... but from what you've posted my guess is you really need to get to grips with the basics. There are tons of books out there and vids online that can get you up to speed with your operating system. Don't be put off by titles like 'The Dummies Guide To...' or the 'The Idiots Guide to..' many of them are incredibly well written and choc full of information that can make your life soooo much easier. Most libraries have them as well. I'd suggest you keep a copy of the 'Idiots Guide to __insert your operating system here__'... it gives you something to hop to when things get a little crazy. Over time you will build up a set of skills to troubleshoot your own problems.

Just to update everyone on what happened, the problem has been resolved. I called customer support, and I was able to download the other programs that came with the Intuos4. I had a little problem with the Corel Paint Sketchbook, because it needed a serial number, but when I copied it down and tried to enter the numbers and letters, I got the letter S confused with the number 5, and a zero confused with the letter O, so I went and copied and pasted the serial number and everything was kosher. I can now utilize the software that came with my device.

I know this is an old thread but I have the same problem. I am not a newbie, I can build computers from scratch and always uncheck the box (hide file extensions) so I can see them. Some of the free programs that you are allowed to download from the wacom site when you buy the Intuos do not have any file extension. They also are not zipped and their icon looks like a white page. I had to redo my laptop because it was blue-screening all the time (Avira was the culprit) and have not yet re-installed the Intuos.
I am running Windows 7 64bit. I just went to the Wacom site and downloaded the software a second time but the files are still without extensions. I will have to contact them and find out how to get the correct downloads.

P.S. Was just on the Wacom forum and a couple of people said they added the exe extension to the files and then they installed. Weird!

I had the same issue. There were no file extensions on the files. I added .exe to all of the files that would not open and they installed perfectly.
