Oh, shizbits! I live in Austin now... I bet there's GOTTA be something goin' on around here!
I've always wanted to do this, but figured it would be most fun with a group. I gotta find out what's up in this town...

I'm doing it for the first time this year. Super excited.
I talked my (awesome) local shop into hosting it, and I ended up designing this for them.
(Yeah, that's Jack Kirby. If he can't bring 'em in, nobody can.)
Hopefully we'll have a good turnout.
Also, there are some neat resources here:
24hourcomicsday.com. They've got a PDF download with story breakdown sheets and whatnot. Pretty interesting, though I'm not sure how useful they'd be for me. Who else is doing it this year? Jeremy?

Nice design mate.
Ive done this 2 years in a row. Had a blast both times. Last year I did my 24 pages in only 16 hrs and took a nap.
What day/date is 24hr comic day?
October 1st. Also, Scott McCloud's site has some good tips.
You really have to bring your drawing down some. Simple simple, unless you're focused the whole time (which is tough in a group of comic-lovers at a comic shop), but I can't see it being fun without the group... I cut my boards smaller too. Don't try 11x17 or anything... Smaller should help you.
I don't do energy drinks really. I had a coffee or two, but made sure to have healthy food high in energy (can of peanuts or fruit/nut bars, peanut butter crackers, trail mix, etc). I don't eat super healthy, but for that amount of time you want to watch what sugars you're putting in body.

Thinkin' I'll be at Dragon's Lair here in Austin, they're hosting a jam. Less'n someone else makes a better offer.
Gonna try and go for the whole 24, but I'll probably keep the style quite rough.
I worry a bit 'cause as I get into my middle-30's, doing ANYTHING for a 24-hour solid stretch ain't as easy as it used to be. S'why I want to do it with a group, 'cause I'll need the competition dynamic to keep me moving and motivated.
HEY I HEARD YOU WERE A WILD ONE
