I guess they want to make it as unfunny as possible after what Gervais did at the Golden Globes.

"Nobody knows movies better or is a bigger cinephile than Eddie."
I'm pretty sure I know movies better than Eddie Murphy. Who still watches these awards shows anyhow?

Man I dunno, I think Eddie would be perfect for this. He's far past his edgy stage, anybody who's seen Raw or Delirious knows his potential as an entertainer, he's worked with most of the heavyweights as far as producers and comedic directors and is practically a walking encyclopedia of Hollywood knowledge.

I sure as hell won't watch it (I don't think I've watched an Academy Awards show since I was 10) but I don't see how it's such a bad choice. Didn't Billy Crystal used to host?

I still watch it each and every year. I watch all the movies that get best pictures nods or other nods. For some I get why they get the nods. I just feel that there are other movies more deserving of it. Like recently I watched Valkyrie, now this was stigma of Tom on it. However after watching and being totally engrossed in the film left me wondering why didn't anyone get any kind of nod for it.
My S button i screwed up and doesn't work all the time. So i have to jam it in for it to work.

Yes, and so did Whoopi Goldberg, Jon Stewart and Ellen Degeneres. Eddie Murphy is an incredible performer. He's such a recluse, though, that I guess he irritates people(?). Not sure where the hate, if any, would come from. But if they can have James Franco and Anne Hathaway host the show, it should be a welcome ****ing relief to have Eddie Murphy host it.

I'd watch it if he did the entire show as Mr. T.
