    The Webcomic Factory Seeks Artists

    Hi, I'm Tony DiGerolamo

I'm looking for artists. Since I started up the site last year with co-creator Christian Beranek, we have been able to pay artists every quarter. It's not a lot by any stretch, but it's something and the site continues to grow. Our primary revenue is from banner ads on the site, which we divide amongst ourselves and the artists on the site each quarter.

The workload is low as our projects only post, at max, once a week. We also endeavor to repurpose art whenever possible and promote our talent and their outside projects. You can check out the site at www.thewebcomicfactory.com.

I look forward to seeing your samples. I prefer to visit websites and deviant art accounts rather than get pictures sent via email. And I'm definitely interested in sequentials: pages or strips. Thanks.

    Sincerely,
    Tony DiGerolamo

What kind of projects would these artists be working on?

I can see some really good comic's on your website. I like the Science fiction one's the best.

Thanks guys. First, let me put my email here so you can reach me easier. I'm at thefixisin (at) comcast (dot) net.

Well, I tend to stay away from superhero stuff. I've got tons of scripts. Webcomic stuff and regular comic book-type format stuff.

I tend to lean more towards comedy. That seems to work best for the 3-panel stuff. Long term, I'd like to do more bigger projects like The Horror of Colony 6, ala graphic novels. The downside, that's a huge commitment. The upside, they are easier to pitch to print publishers for reprints and electronic downloads.

I have some more concept webcomics along the lines of I Hate My Kids and In a Relationship where the focus is on the concept and situations, rather than following a specific group of characters. (Although characters do reoccur in those two strips I mentioned, not every strip though.)

I also have a need to take up the mantles of some of the comics that are already on the site, but have stopped because the artist has left or will be leaving in the near future. I'd rather not announce that publicly, so you can email me for details on that.

Anyhow, if you have any further questions or samples, feel free to email me. I can probably answer in more detail via email. Thanks.

    Sincerely,
    Tony D
