Hmmm, ok? So pixel art? I'm going to need a little more explanation. What about using shades of the posted colors? If that is the case then, say 1% of any of these would be close to white, right? Can I get an example of what you are looking for?
You can scan art so long as it's finished in digital colours. You can't use shades. I guess similar to how Mike Mignola colours his work. In blocks of black and in this case those shades of purple or orange. Make sure you download those swatches and open them in photoshop (or whichever program you intend to use) so we have matching colours.
The end result will show our two pictures although different having a disctinct connection.

Ok how about this? So long as you use only those colours. No shades no whites. You can do whatever you want.
