    If anybody needs some Toth...

"Genius Isolated", the first book in a 3-volume Alex Toth biography/retrospective just came out last week. It is an absolutely amazing book -- it's huge (both in page count and dimensions) and packed with tons of Toth stories and art, including a lot of it shot from the original art, with margin-notes and whatnot intact. As far as I know, this is the only Toth book in print other than the Zorro one, at least until "Setting The Standard" comes out later this year.

If you're a Toth fan, this book is worth its (considerable) weight in gold, and if you make comics and you're not a Toth fan, you need to get this book and become a Toth fan, and learn these lessons.

I've wanted this book so badly since I heard about it a few months ago. There was even a slight controversy where some guy from the Onion AV club "reviewed" this book without ever actually reading it...or even having a copy because it wasn't finished at the time of review...

    Consider this book orderrrrrrred

I've had this book for several weeks now. I've read it 4 times so far. lol. It's a great book--absolutely worth having! The first of three volumes, so I'm looking forward to the next installment, Genius Illustrated.

Does it have any of the black and whites from "Death Flies the Haunted Sky" Batman story he did? I've always wanted to see that without the crapy color. I had a copy of that comic for AGES that finally just rotted apart.
I guess it had a bad case of "Toth Decay"
    HA HA HA, hahahahahahahahahahahahah...

No, don't get up, I'll just curb-stomp myself.
It's not your fault, it's mine, because I forgot you are stupid.

Heh heh. I'm on board with the Toth Decay.

No, it doesn't have that story -- I think this book only covers up through the '50s. Maybe it'll be in the next one.

Pages 86-93 alone are worth the price of the book. ****ing gorgeous pages. Obviously, being Toth and all.
