there's just no point, it's ALREADY a picture. If he'd used it as reference for something new, fine. Like, made her a zombie, or maybe what she'd look like as a goblin or something.
It's not your fault, it's mine, because I forgot you are stupid.

After seeing the video, that's definitely skill. I've recreated photos before as a learning/coloring exercise and it's not at all easy.

No question, the guy has a good eye. His site is mostly full of caricatures though, and apparently he used a Genius tablet.

I only found him because I was looking into wacom alternatives since I can't afford (or justify getting) the bigger ones but didn't want to sacrifice too much quality skimping out. The M712X seems like a good deal though, and I've been reading good things about these tablets, despite some minor issues. Sure, it lacks the 2048 levels of pressure the wacoms get, but I don't think that's that big of a deal...at least not at my level of art experience.

Anyone have any good experiences with tablets other than wacom?

I hear the Bamboo ones are decent, and from what I'm told they're a cheap alternative made by a Wacom side company. I've been wondering about tablets myself though.

Fair warning, I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm going to keep doing it though.

I've just been using the Wacom Bamboo tablet. It was 70 bucks brand new and is a nice little starter tool for somebody looking to get into digital art. I've pretty much just been using it for cartooning.

yeah, but the biggest one - bamboo fun only has a 8.5" x 5.4" live area, whereas for 30 bucks less I get a live area of 12” x7.25”...

Currently, I have a graphire 2, but I have not been able to work at its small size effectively, which is why I want a bigger 'canvas' so to speak.
