PSF: Spidey v ArmstrongArts: Witchblade and Darkness

Wowzers. Tough call. Two totally different takes on the subject matter. Both has some anatomical issues. Though the problems may be less obvious in Spidey's piece.

Armstrongs has a lot of energy and movement. It feels pretty epic. Though Darkness seems to play second fiddle. I think the use of shading and spot blacks kick up the contrast on the piece, though I could use some more line weight on Witch, since she is up front, especially around her right hand, which gets lost a little.

Spidey's has lots of personality. I don't read the darkness but I've always liked the idea of his darkness imps and their personalities and I think they are really shown off. The one peaking over the Darkness' shoulder, the two arguing, grabbing his junk. But what really got me was the one touching Witch's booty. I think if Witch reacted to that a bit, it would have been awesome. Also really dig the line work on this piece but it is screaming for color.

Went with Spidey for style reasons, anatomy, and imps.

Armstrong's piece is certainly more ambitious, and I like the idea, but I went with Spidey on this one. I like the extra polish, the characters are done well, and the imps are a nice extra touch.

Armstrongarts piece reminds me of something from the old Justice Machine comic. But I don't like the way the darkness is standing...it looks off. Spidey's is clean and has a nice style to it and has personality, but Witchblades legs are extremely short for her body.
Had to go with Spidey's tho....the imps were what threw me to his side.

It's funny that the darklings are winning you guys over. They were a complete after thought. I drew them in after the characters were finished. I only added them because the composition looked really lopsided. So I added a few for balance. Yeah, I caught the small leg thing as I was doing it, but didn't think it was that bad. I'll fix it Ps before I color it. Which is what it was meant for and why the lines are so open.

Armstrong really went for it, but it's so busy... hard to look at.

Spidey's is clean and fun and, even as an afterthought... the darklings make the pic...

Wasn't able to vote on this, but I just wanted to add that I went with Spidey because it was a bit easier to read, and a lot cleaner.

Armstrong's piece was one heck of an effort though.
