PJ Pencilling Challenge #3 - I love it!

Are you frightened, little Kartoffelkeimen? Do any of you have strong enough bowels to accept yet another challenge from Dr. Null? You didn't do so well in the first two challenges. But Dr. Null will give you all yet another chance.

    Behold the newest challenge!

Draw a middle close up of a young black woman, with shoulder-length hair, who's just opened a small gift box (such as a ring would fit in) and is clearly amazed and pleasantly surprised at whatever it is she finds inside. We should not be able to see what's inside the box, but we should be able to see her expression clearly!

Does Dr. Null need to say it? Nein! Dr. Null does not need to say it, but Dr. Null wants to say it - You will fail.

Dr. Null does not think Dennis Rodman qualifies as a "young black woman." Sind Sie ernst?

Although, Dr. Null must admit, Mr. Rodman does seem genuinely pleasantly surprised.

Dr. Null is disgusted! Is this really the best you can do? Ehrlich?

Unlike the other Skizze Spitzmaus at least your drawing is of a young black female, but Dr. Null is creeped out by those things that look like "fingers."

Auch hier, Dr. Null realizes the challenge was a stunning two sentences long, so let Dr. Null remind you ...

Dr. Null is tempted to make the next challenge just so, but only to see how you would FAIL!

    Here's my take:
scmarooney - I like the eyes. There's a good sense of suprise and amazement in those eyes. Good Job! Also, the facial expression is well done. But, I think you should've brought the camera up closer. I don't believe this is a middle shot. Also she is WAY to muscular. Bordering on he not she.

brokenhill: If not for the f'd up her left hand and the jack in the box this would be sweet. I absolutely love the face and the expression it gives. I will say that every artist knows the perspective on that left hand is tough, although you didn't quite pull it off at least you tried. Also, I don't think u were supposed to show what was in in the box, altough funny I doubt it was a gloworm.

Speaking of worms, I would have lived to see someone do a semi worms eye middle shot. Kinda looking up underneath the box and her face looking over- if that makes sense.

    Good Job guys!

    -Jim
