The 2-bit color in Manga studio bothers you that much, huh? What resolkution are you drawing at? The tradeoff in tiny file-sizes is totally worth it to me.
Just finished compiling a walkthrough of my latest Cold War page if anyone is interested: Web-comikin'

NICE! New page... I check your web comic page all the time. How often do you update (is it scheduled)?

I draw at 10x15, 600 dpi. I can only magnify up to 50; after that it becomes a mess. Mostly I don't need to go beyond that, but for small faces and important details I really need to be precise. Also, I like to do a lot of just drawing and sketching digitally. Manga Studio is way better than photoshop, if only because you can spin the page, but the lines just look terrible in 2 bit. At 8, it feels more like pencil drawing, a much more enjoyable way to sketch. I only worry about file size when it slows the program down, which this change doesn't do at all, so it probably depends on one's computer, too.
Unfortunately, not terribly often. Oracle pages take 1-2 hours, and I try to get one a week at minimum, sometimes two or three. Cold War pages take 6-8 hours, and I just do those whenever I can. I've got a freelance job at the moment, so Cold War is probably best read by the extremely patient. But I'm glad that you like it; if I had my way, it would be my full-time job.
