    Comics Experience with Andy Schmidt?

    Hey guys-

This is my first post, so sorry if this has already been asked. I did a quick search and didn't find anything. My question is if anybody has taken the Comics Experience class with Andy Schmidt. If so, is it a worth while endeavor? Looks cool but it's expensive, so just curious.

    Thanks

I've never had my writing improved by a teacher or mentor. I've had teachers and mentors but they don't do anything but give you a forum for your creations to have critiques and if you think that is worth however much it costs then go for it, I personally wouldn't.

I haven't taken the class with him, but here are some of his credentials:

    o Nova (2006) #1-4
    o Ronan the Accuser (2006) #1-4
    o Silver Surfer (2006) #1-4
    o Super-Skrull (2006) #1-4
    o Annihilation #1-6 (2006)

    Books

    * The Insider's Guide To Creating Comics And Graphic Novels (176 pages, Impact, February 2009, ISBN 1600610226)
If anything, I'd probably buy his book and see if there's anything worthwhile in there and base my decision on that. IMO, the more you learn about the craft of writing, the better off you'll be.
