Make sure to check out the lettered versions of these pages on the site! It's not bad, but the transition from panel 1 to panel 2 is a little confusing to me. I think these are some clear and well-drawn pages, and they're very energetic and dynamic. However, the one thing that really stood out for me was the lack of backgrounds. The only time the setting is shown is in panel 3, which is one of the smallest panels on the page. I'd like to see more background details, or even full rendered backgrounds, in panels 1, 5, and maybe even 7 in addition to panel 3 to help establish where they are, and to also make some of the panels more interesting visually.

I'm also feeling a lack of backgrounds. They're kind of now you see 'em, now you don't, especially on p.6. Showing no background can be a legitimate stylistic choice, but I see no need for it for example on the last panel of p.5. It looks unfinished.

I like the lack of background, actually. It reminds me of Invincible in a lot of ways.

its definitely a style that is going around, the no background thing, and i'd say it works for colors because not including the background you can at least fill it with a color that could/would/should express indoor outdoor day night or mood but with black and white it does kinda feel a bit unfinished. Besides that, the facial expressions and the pacing and the layouts are all great, creative and interesting. Easy to follow down the page instead of guessing which panel is next.

In defense of the no background thing, I'd say that when you read along with the lettered versions, you don't really notice it.
But, as Fave said, the colors are meant to add background. I know that is Jet's intention, I just can't afford a colorist yet lol
As far as the art itself, I couldn't be happier with it. Jet is putting what's in my head on paper with great ease.
Anyway, make sure you guys all check out the site! (and buy a copy when I open a webstore next week )

    Great art. Nice storytelling.

The first page background isn't very convincing.
