I drew this story "Free Sample" over the last few weeks for my webcomic Small Change. I experimented with using pencil for shading, but as I feared, the scanner didn't pick that up as well as I'd have liked, so I probably won't do that again.

Yeah, I did scan it in the photo setting. Most of the shading shows up all right, particularly on the last page, but there's some lighter stuff on the first page that barely shows up at all.
