I think the "IT" piece is probably my favourite, but they're all really slick.

    IMO, these pretty much FAIL.

if you're going to do minimilist illustrations of books , movies ....whatever, you need to effectively illustrate the essence of the source material.

sorry, but a pail suspended by rope doesn't illustrate "Carrie".

it may symbolize that particular moment....but not the book as a whole.

i've been seeing a lot of these minimalist illustrations of late on the 'net. and some of them are great.....but most of them miss the point .

it's almost as frustrating of hearing the word "icon" misused over and over again.

this is a brilliant example of illustrating the essence of a property in a minimalist way...

let me add.....or clarify, that by saying "capturing the essence ..." , i may be raising the bar to high.

i think that would be the ideal, but i have seen posters that aren't so deep per say, but were none the less clever. what i've seen on the stephen king link are neither. here's a great example of "clever, but not so deep...".......

i somewhat agree with hyperjack. IMO the only one of these stephen king posters that works is "Stand By Me"
The Shining one is cool also, but i dont think it reflects what the whole movie is about.

see, i think you could be a lot more clever with the "Shining".....like a crack ( in the door) with just one evil eye peering out.....something like that. there's al ot of imagery in that movie to play with. what that person went with is.....meh.

that's great you think so, but when it's apparent to me that with a little extra thought these could be better, these tend to be disappointing.
