Avengers Movie Thread

Watched it and have to say.. I don't get it at all. This is the most dreadfully boring thing I've watched all year.. I swear there was one scene where it seemed like Thor and Loki talked for 5 minutes before throwing a single punch. WTF? This is passable in a Tarantino movie where the dialogue is actually entertaining, but this stuff was pretty bland. Why was there so much freakin dialogue in an action movie with practically zero plot?? And more importantly how the hell are people calling this the best movie of the year? I seriously wanna understand this, I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone or some shit.

Yeah, Whedon IS NOT Tarantino and he's not funny either. Why he focused on talking a lot and making sure there was a joke every 5 minutes, frustrates me. If it wasn't for the Hulk, this movie would've literally been a Bendis comic brought to life (that means lots of talking and nothing happening). The only reason nerds, fanboys and the general pop will love this because its all the cool heroes in one movie. If you put all the horror monsters in one movie, it might have a shitty plot but at least it's kind of cool. I think thats why it's getting praised.

What confuses me is why this movie is 96% on RT. No sense!

Also Jack Kirby was credited along with Stan Lee as the creator of the Avengers, which I thought was pretty cool.

Just remind yourself different strokes for different folks. All of my friends loved the movie "Bridesmaids" and I thought it was the worst movie I have seen in the last 10 years, and my friends and I almost always agree on movies. Sometimes people just differ in their opinions, and those are all based on personal preference and expectations.

Couldn't be that awful cam version they released from russia. Has blurry video, terrible audio, and is missing 20 min of the movie.

Did some of you guy seriously just review a movie based on an almost unwatchable copy of it??

I don't care what anyone's saying. It's great action and entertainment and that's what movies should be about in this genre anyway. I'm heading back now in fact along w a friend and her family. This is turning out to be a great weekend. Only thing that bugs me is the 3D. It does not translate motion blur well - at all.

well I went to the theater to watch Dark Knight and it was still almost unwatchable. (But thats just my opinion) And I could still barely make out anything Batman said. So Bad audio might have been an improvement.

My friend gets everything early and he hooked it up with a good copy. Even if it did have HD visuals and nice audio, that won't fix the actors, plot, dialogue and action.

I guess you'd be extra pissed if it was subtitled.
