Fate Recollection

I saw a cool Dr Fate sketch by Simonson on ebay. I tried to recollect the pose from memory.




I thought it was pretty close. The legs might be a little short and the belt is wrong. But I thought I was in the ballpark.

Boy was I off.

I was fortunate to see the Simonson sketch again. And this time i did a quick swipe/sketch of my own.



It's funny how my mind works sometimes. Or doesn't.

That is why using references is so important a lot of times...your mind will trick you in to seeing to much or seeing too little
