i havent watch Rome. But would Rome be considered better than this.l

also with spartacus blood and sand kinda makes the 300 prequel miller is doing moot. since unless they show more nudity :P

You can't really compare this show to Rome. This is more a hyper violent Heavy metal type of thing. Doesn't even pretend to be realistic

They definitely overuse the Zack Snyder pause tho. Kinda grated on my nerves at first, but I'm sure they will tone it down as they get more comfortable with the storytelling.

And yes they swear in present day slang. Even with all that it wasn't that bad. It's different which is good IMHO. Going to give it a shot past the pilot to see if it progresses any.

I saw the pilot and I definitely think that the Zack Snyder slow-mo was waayyy over used. Every hit was a slow mo. And way too much blood. I know the show is called Blood and Sand, but by the end of it, I would have preferred to watch a ton of sand as opposed to all that fake, Hollywood and CG blood.

I disliked the slow motion as well. The blood splashes were over used in my opinion.

Rome is like a hundred times better. They basically tried to out-titty Rome and add 300 into it.

Episode 2 has Lucy Lawless boobies, rawr!

I think I'll watch the first episodes of this show, just out of curiosity, but I'd be very surprised if it were better than the very very very fantastic series 'Rome'.

I'm not sure why we are even comparing it to Rome ,other then the time period...

I always thought Rome had that low budget, BBC period piece feel to it. The storytelling was good, it just wasn't a "must see" show for me.

Blood and Sand sounds awful, from they way everyone is describing it, but I'm sure I'll still check it out at some point.

Is this Starz's first original series?
