How did it work out CB?
Man, I've been there. Two jobs went to other states and one job went to a South American country. All you can do is roll with it, collect Unemployment as long as you can until you get something new.
that blows. .... and that is coming from someone that has basically been out of work for 3.5 Years. I do have a question though.....how is the office bitch a "nice enough" lady?
Thanks for the interesting read, cbikle. It is pretty rotten the way they decided to hand out letters (or not) to let everyone know who was being retained and who was not. Hope something turns up for you soon!
Well, as long as you got a possible something lined up it won't suck so bad.
Yeah, thanks guys, I've been laid off before and this particular situation actually kind of works out for me, so personally, it's not a big deal, especially since I haven't been with the company very long. When I posted this, I didn't mean for it to sound like one of those "weepy, woe-is-me" posts you see on message boards - it really is an interesting, albeit tense and awkward situation unfolding.
Sorry to hear about it, cbikle. It's a weird feeling to be laid off. I had never experienced it until 2008, when the company I worked for completely went under in two days. The entire company laid off on a Friday. Stay positive, you'll land on your feet.
Wow, that's terrible. The act of having to train your replacement must be so damn soul-crushing. Companies are always heartless when it comes to laying people off. I remember when I injured my rotator cuff while working at my first job I was placed on "light duty" while receiving physical therapy. The moment I was cleared to go back to my regular job I was terminated along with about 3 others. Hope everything works out for you, man.
