Lifedrawing Session! (NSFW)

Hey everyone!

I noticed that not many people in PJ go to lifedrawing and because of how much lifedrawing has helped me personally I thought I should start this to encourage everyone to do lifedrawing.

Below I have collected a bunch of nude reference pictures of people with interesting poses or interesting lighting. I seperated them into categories of 1 min, 2 mins and 5 minutes, meaning you should spend 1 min drawing the 1 min category, 2 mins drawing the 2 mins and so on.

They are suppose to be quick. The point is to draw the gesture and composition of the whole body. To study the movement and natural flow of the body. So that your characters don't look stiff. The most important thing is gesture, gesture, gesture.

This is a good idea, ThreeEyesWorm! I remember doing this in some of the college art courses I took, using a huge pad of newsprint and a piece of vine charcoal.

I decided to try a few. Hope it is okay to post them here, as I wasn't sure if that was the idea...
I used newsprint and a black prismacolor colored pencil.

I saved all of yours and then I went on a quest to draw more and since I was drawing in order from what I saved last I am not near to getting to yours yet but these are the ones I've done so far.

This is a great group. I always wanted to draw quick lifelike sketches.. the problem is that I can never make it on time. Drawing for a minutes spits out a terrible doodle, drawing the pose in at least recognizable quality takes about five minutes at least. What is the trick? I guess its the practise, right?

Yeah pretty much. I can't do much in a minute either, but like 2-3 I can get a pretty good gesture drawing out. But the faster you go and the more you do it, the more you train yourself to read the figure and translate it to page with accuracy.
