Wow. Nice work, ThreeEyesWorm. That came out really good, despite your not taking my "billowing steam" advice.
thordad, your piece was ambitious, but you didn't really pull it off. It's a little crammed and hard to make out, for the most part. Smooth lines are still something you need to work on, as well as line weights.

Hey Popninja, if I was to do it all over again, I would definitely have taken your billowing steam advice. It's a very good one. But I couldn't find any appropriate place on this piece to put billowing steam. Please don't think that I thought your advice was a bad one because it definitely wasn't.

PoP , yeah it was a lot to fit into 7x9 space , I am hurting myself not working larger. Inking Im still working on , definitely need to get smoother with my lines but I thought I did very my lineweights a bit more than I had been , obviously not enough yet . I should have tried color that might have eased some of what you describe as crampedness.
ThreeEyes ,love the colors , nice work .

You know ...... PoP is a great talent and I do look up to him for his advice on things , something really bugs me though. I will grant him that my piece might feel a lil cramped , but on the linework issue he pointed out that I need to be smoother and more varied in lineweights but made no mention of any of the same to my competitor though the same issue is apparent . ( with all do respect I am only using my competitors piece to make a point not to knock a piece I think is really good )
My Point being that if you beautifully digitally paint a stick figure , it will make people happy .
The theme was SteamPunk Elves ( not futuristic elves , not one elf .... maybe further clarification is needed on challenges are far as topic constraints go )
To take a cue from Toddoss ; My Piece has more steam and is more punk ( And I know Punk , Punk :p )

Thanks! I liked where you were taking with your picture. But did you rush it a bit? I wish you spent more time developing it.

I think line-weight variation in inking is more important for black and white pictures than for colored pictures.

Actually, I don't think it will. I would love to see someone do it though. The power of coloring should not be overestimated. I felt like I should practice using colors (although I rushed it), which is why I did the coloring. Perhaps I should have done an inked drawing instead.
not futuristic elves
When I first started the piece, I was a bit worried it looked futuristic. Now that I've finished it, I do not think it looks futuristic.

I would be disappointed if rules become so stringent about such semantics. I do not think judgements based on such semantics is constructive for skills and artistic development.

Your right on about the sematics part .
i was just being a whiny b!tch
sometimes i should just keep my mouth shut
i was frustrated and annoyed to be honest if i saw the same thing in challenge i wasnt involved with i would have said nearly the same thing
pardon my insufferable nature ( i try to keep it in check and usually do )
