Bojangles gets my vote because of how organic the character feels against the background, nicely put together.

I'm not to familiar with the character. I went down to the comic shop here to find some reference, but they didn't have any current issues. All I had was a little full body image I found on the net, wasn't sure if it was a glove or a mechanical hand, so I went with a regular hand... There's a few other goofs on the costume, and the scar apparently.

I just don't get the maple leaf blood stain covering Mark's face.

Cheers, man. That makes my day to hear. As for the maple leaf it
was a nod to my opponent. There's a few Canucks on PJ so maybe
not a good idea.

A few issues with both. Dri, top half is awesome, but bottimhalf looks like someone else drew it, especially with the blood covering his head like it's a carpet...just too wierd.
Bojangles: I really love the style in your work, just seems to me that "his" left hand should be closer to the camera but you drew it smaller then his hand supporting the background. I feel aswell a shadow was needed to give him more grip on the surface. Was a close call for me, but I went with Dri

I voted for MrBojangles. It's just such a clean piece that I can forgive the right hand not being mechanical.

I'm undecided. Both pieces are good, but both have errors that I can't not notice. Mrbojangles' right leg is immaciated and Dri has Conquest stepping on Mark in a peculiar way and the bloodstain is meh. I can forgive Mrbojangles non-cyberarm because I'm not familiar with the character either (though Huerta's piece in ish 64 is AMAZING and it's on the boards here).

Nyergh. Still undecided.

i went with dri.

i know the drawing has compositional problems, but i feel that he's handling his colours well this time around that his earlier works. he's making valuable progress.

mr. b's piece is nice in an aesthetic sense, but dri show's great progress and promise of improving further

Went with Dri.... nice big, strong Conquest, with the familiar grimace (but I refuse to scroll down to that blood splatter... Come on Dri, that looks like a big star fish or sum'tin! lol) . But yeah, Mr. B's is top notch as well! This could be a very close contest.

I went with MrBo's , Dri piece had kind of a wonky perspective to it and it was too much of a deviation from his normally sound and crisp style that I really like so much.

Both are great and I like that Dri managed to get his in color. But I'm going with Bojangles. I like the face expression :)

This one was a tough one for me. I liked'em both. In sure style I'd go with Mrbojangles, it cought my eye. But I had to go with Dri because his color, and the fact that Bojangles left out Conquest's robotic arm. Nice job guys.

I baaaaarely voted for MrB. I dont like how CQ doesnt have his robot arm and I dont buy that you couldnt find ref. on line. I just googled "Conquest Invincible" and he popped up.

It came down to the drawing skills and I picked based on that.

I'll see if I can find it again, I remember seeing preview pages from upcoming issues of Invincible that show flash back scenes, including a panel or two of Conquest prior to when he got his cyber-arm. Might even be the scene where he loses his arm to begin with.

Ah, youre talking about issue 66. Those images just came out, way after his original appearance (issue 61). I was confused because Ryan has never drawn him without his arm, but yeah, hes had the robot arm since the beginning of his conception and has been floating around online for awhile now.

Would still love to see people design a new CQ look after his beat down. Redesigns are the best.

Good grief... I've been visiting family the last few weeks, the best I could do was either go out and find a comic, or print something out. This is what I printed out off google images...

...black and white, very small image on paper. Couldn't make it out, didn't want to fudge it, didn't have anything else to go by, drew a regular hand. That was my 10 second thought process. Next time I'll grab more reference.

You've done a great job Bojangles, I guess it's always gonna be tough draiwnga character blind who you ahve no love or relation to. Drawing something you really like will normally get the best out of one, so can't wait to see what you'd come up with when you choose a topic you love.
