nah scott's is all retro style, made me think of brother vodoo or some shizz.

That being said Tet's is jsut plain creepy, that'd make a wonderful McFarlane toy.

Scott's picture made me laugh at the concept of a retro Spawn. So I voted for him.

Teratophile's picture is rad, but I didnt get a strong emotional reaction from it like I did with Scott's.

Ewen, two words: Larger image. Also, I guess I didn't get what was redesigned about your Spawn.

This was part of a whole comic strip I was gonna do, that was seven panels and told the whole origin story of Spawn in a retro style. I didn't have time to finish it though, so I colored the one panel that was finished and showed Spawn's whole costume.

It is a subtle redesign, I downplayed the spikes and the chains, changed the cape to make it more retro, and added little shorts. I wanted it to be true to the character but still feel like it could have been done in the 60s.

Spawn reminds me of spiderman. spawns suit reminds me of venom/carnage. it all comes full circle.

Dave you're right with arseface...though i wasnt thinking of the preacher. i wanted his mouth to be made to look like sphincter. This version of spawn is the reconstructed remains Al simmons as well as other animals. The mandible thing is an animal jawbone cracked in two. the markings on his body were supposed to be residual intact flesh but i failed at that.

The story is Al simmons was resurrected scientific means and pulled back with him a sort of Etherial bacteria (demons?). The organisms hijacked simmons corpse, and reconstructed him in a nightmarish way to provoke fear. they feed off of sensations. all simmons wants to do is see his wife and is in a constant struggle to regain control of his body.


anyway....i feel bad for not picking a more inspiring topic for Scott. on the brightside i really enjoy how different our responces to the topic were.
