Here is a commission I'm currently working on. The actual size is about 22x34, and it has to be done by Thursday night. Thus I wanted some feedback as I go to make this the best picture possible for my client!

I'll post progress reports as I go! Let me know what you think.

Wow, if the unfinished stuff comes along like the finished stuff, you should have one ecstatic client! The only problem I see so far is that the reflection on his torso from the glowing object he's holding looks more like goo than glow. Maybe have it be a little less opaque on his chest to show its not a solid mass.

I'll echo that crit. Clearly this still has a lot to be done, but yeah, go for the soft glow. You might even pull it onto his helmet at the top to relate everything.

im not feeling the direction his legs are going, to be honest. IMO, this would be more dynamic

I hate to dissagree with nick this late when you've already done it, didn't see the thread before but anyways. I like the legs better before because now it kinda looks like he's falling over. and a bit of an amputee.

Update 3!

TK, I'll work on the leg towards the end. I kinda like how it looks.

I think you could fix the leg situation if you bent his left foot a little. Like he's really digging into the ground or something.

I loves me some Halo.

My only big problem is whoever commissioned the piece picked that crappy armor.

But that's just my personal taste.

I like your painted style Hanzou. It may be to late for you but that
lifting leg is too big in relation to his outstretched arm. Cos his arm
and gun should be the aim of focus rather than the leg you either
have to make the arm/hand bigger or make the leg smaller.

I love it. I think it would look pretty cool if the banshee and needler were shooting at him.

I co-sign. Also, if not for your client, just for yourself, I would suggest finishing the background...that would make this good picture great.
