PUMMEL Weight Class.

I'm thinking about getting into the PUMMEL deal. What weight class do you all think?

Heavy, your anatomy and all of that stuff may not be perfect but you've got a real sense of energy and motion in your pictures with a great originaltiy in compositions that I love.

I say lower middleweight, maybe top lightweight, but I voted middle. All I have to do is think about the stuff Bovey, 'Braces, Hades and Keith are producing for these heavyweight PUMMEL matchups and I can say with all honesty you are not a heavyweight. And with guys like Spidey and Breck in the middleweight class, it's hard to imagine you being able to hold your own against them. But I still voted middle anyway. But I'm thinking bottom seeded middle.

Nothing wrong with confidence. And given the nature or inspiration of PUMMEL (mixed martial arts and boxing), I don't mind a little jawin' either. Gives the contests more character.

Yeah, I didn't see anything wrong with the way he responded. And based on the image Bovey posted, he would definitely hold his own in the middleweight division. I checked his myspace page and his work is very inconsistent. One minute you're like "Cool," and the next you're like "Whu--?"

I voted middle. I agree with Pop that your stuff is kinda all over the place and your anatomy needs a little work. Until you can consistently bring top notch stuff every time like the guys in the heavyweights are doing, you belong in the middleweights with the rest of us "moment of brilliance" schlubs.

Anyway, Ballpoint, I've obviously seen a ton of your work from the tenton sketch challenges so I could see you going in either middle or heavy, but gotta agree with the inconsistency comment. I'd say bring it in middle weight. You'll compete and probably move up to heavy.

WOW. This has become a hot topic in the time it took me to get home from work. For the record though, I agree that i am a middle weight right now, just don't think i am a lightweight.




UMMM ... dude ... when we decided all of this there was 2 or 3 votes seperating low middleweights and the top lightweights ... heck I think the top lightweights were only 4 votes above the bottom .... heck right now I am the SECOND highest light weight left ... and I was #8.

There aint anything wrong with light weight ... but with that being said ... I do thing you are a middleweight ... but that Dave, Hades, Keith, Adultbraces and a few others would K.O. in a one on one. That is the reason I am happy to work my way up ... so when I DO face those guys ... I've earned it ... and I am somewhat ready for it.

LOL I am loving it. this jawing is what I was looking forward to. Ballpoint was respectfully defending his work (the 'kid' comment aside, but I know people that use that for everyone so I can let that slide) Remember since the first weight class voting is over when you vote someone in a class now you are voting them to the bottom of that class. So if you think they are a strong light-weak middle, then you should vote them a middle. if you vote them a light they have to win a shit ton of matches to get into middle. (so sayith the lowest light weight)

We are putting everything into these pieces so it is understandable that people want to defend their piece. It is like someone telling you your kid is ugly. and as to Ballpoint not being able to change pops opinion that is true pop already voted, But if he can midigate the damage Pop did to how everyone else views the picture he succeeded. Every time some one makes a comment on the seating picture they are changing the subjective views on the other readers. If you point out errors in the piece that someone else might not have seen you are influencing other votes. Last I checked this was not the critique thread.

And really .... if you vote someone into a higher class then they should be ... so what, they loose a few draw-offs, and drop in rank. it is all subjective. Like I can't stand Lefield's art, hasn't stopped him from making money.
