Looking at some of the stuff on your website I think you could go heavyweight.
Based off the two pieces here though I think you'll probably end up a middleweight.

Well ... honestly ... I would respectfully say lightweight ... but then again I can't see the stuff on your site so I have to go with what you have posted here. IMHO ... based on what you have here ... there are a lot of lightweights who could give you a run for your money. If this rubes you the wrong way please just go back to the seeding thread ... or even the Round 1 of tournament ... and I hope you will see what I mean. There are a lot of good artists in the lightweight division right now.

I think the two pieces you have posted here are no way as good as the stuff on your site. I would say Middleweight

In your other work, you seem to show more confidence and direction in your pieces and going off the beaten track. Your comic book work would benefit from using more of that. The two pieces above are cropped in really ugly places. Cropping at joints is a no-no in my book.

thanks mr. hades - that's an excellent crit! i have to agree with you on your points - i was trying some things out that failed because i didnt push them enough. although ill continue to crop things, i have to be more aware of where on the body i am cropping (as a designer i've kinda trained my eye to see a shape rather than a figure). it really was a very good crit - which are rare here. thanks!

Yeah the rule with cropping a figure is to try to avoid croping them overly close to the joints ... elbows, wrists, knees, shoulders, etc. Especially when you want action. I don't know why it works on a mental level really ... but by doing so you effectively anchor them to the edge of the page and A LOT of your energy is lost. I think your speedster pic really suffers from this. Again I have NO idea why the brain does this ... but it is the way it works ... better artists then I may be able to explain it ... I just follow the rule. Heck I think Loston taught it to me ... lol.
