hades' looks like dd is leaning on the buildings, but it got my vote for how finished it was in comparison
this one was close in my eyes, but i like how phsy's pic worked as a whole. It was different than i expected it to be when i saw the name, and the pic makes me think about the battle. Like i can imagine the moves that r about to happen. weird, i know, but that why i picked it.

I'm not generally a huge fan of physics technique in this picture but I absolutely love the composition so he got my vote.
Both are solid pieces, but I liked Physics' composition more, and DD's dynamic anatomy and original pose sealed the deal for me.

Went with Hades. I feel we've been getting jipped with Physics attempts. I'm a big fan of his, but we've only been getting tidbits of his talent. I think you can set aside an hour or 2 to make a decent piece dude.
I'm really not a fan of the moon's placement in Hade's piece. The way it's synching up with a number of his body lines ties them together, really brings the moon down and makes it seem like it's sitting on his back.
Physic, however, only has a really nice layout and thumbnail for a finished piece somehwere down the line... Going to have to go with Hade's fine finish.

I'm not trying to claim im going all out, that would be using 32 hours . But keep in mind a couple things:
4 of my last 6 battles were 24 hour battles, 1 was an hour battle and one was 48 hours all done in less than a week, or i think or about a week.
aside from the 1 hour battle, i spent at the very least 3 hours on these things, some much more.
Im testing out techniques, getting the rust off and getting feedback, all on deadlines.
This piece which yall think of as thrown together prolly used up at least 5 hours. I'm not as fast on colors and 100% digital as some of you guys, and probably not as fast on the pencil either. We all got dif processes man don't assume that i'm slacking

I agree with this, alot of my new digital stuff looks rushed, but its taking me longer than my paper stuff used too...I dont think youre rushing things, physics, but i do think that for the purpose of this tournament, experimenting with new techniques now might not be the best time.

I love Hades work in general and this piece is no exception, I might have went with PHysics if it had been slightly more definied with some contour lines or something?

I voted for Hades. Damn fine pencils there. A few compositional things that could be ironed out but still pretty awesome.
When I looked at physicdesigns' piece my first thought is that it needed an inked layer, or something to make it more cohesive and solid. I think it has a lot of potential but definitely came off looking unfinished.

Thanks for all the votes and comments. I really half-assed the background on this piece - I know I can do better. I wanted the buildings framing him and adding a directional sense, but they look like poop. :( Still, I'm glad you guys like the figure - I like drawing DD because he forces me to shade more. :)

Both are really good but, I really dig the figure work that physics has going on with his daredevil. Hade's is really good as well but-to me-the pose just seems like a typical lunging superhero pose...I mean you could replace DD with say Wolverine, Batman or Captain America and you'd get pretty m uch the same visceral effect. Physic's pose seemed more unique and much appropriate for the character, IMO.
