Beyond the terrible effect on the fist in Gadgets piece I think it's just generally a great piece really nice use of negative space. So I had to vote for him.

hahaha. i actually meant to change that (the fist effect). i drew it in yesterday and figured i would replace it with something better this morning and just didnt have time before work. oh well. hopefully it doesnt doom the piece.

these are both very good, I went with pops because it looks like he actually used his power in that one (by punching through the wall)

The skill level in these are very similar. The difference here is simply the darkness and crispness of lines. If Pop's was outlined in the same way, it would jump off the page.

I'm distracted a bit by your posing of Ironfist, gagdetwk. It doesn't look or feel like a leaping pose. Seems more like he's crouching in mid-air. The fist is also too big. I do like your linework though and it's definitely a strong attempt at a more complex composition.

Pop's is ok, nothing stands out as being wrong... but at the same time it's not very dynamic or exciting.

In the end I'll go with the attempt at a more complex illustration, even though a few things are off.

Great work though, Gadget! Nice addition w/ the Hydra troops! ....ever so tough to call these close ones!

thanks for all the votes and crits guys. i know the pose looks stiff, thats my biggest problem with the piece too. i was really trying to step it up after taking a look at some of pop's works and there were just some things i wasn't able to fully accomplish like i wanted to. the fist effect and the pose for example. i also wanted the hydra guy on the left to be a bit closer instead of those 4 being all bunched up. i didnt even notice the fist being so big til bovey said something but i totally see it now.

pop, yours is great. i was really jealous of the fist effect. i agree that the wall makes it look a lot more like hes putting his powers to use.

dude, i wouldnt call the pose stiff at all. every leap has a mid point... and thats exactly what i see here. i think it looks very fluid. almost anime-ish. like the slow-mo part. i dont mind the fist effect either. to say its terrible is just a someone spouting an opinion. cause its far from it. i can imagine it would some cool coloring and it being just fine looking. that style fits your slight animated feel you have in alot of your work. if i had to crit one thing is that i feel i.f.'s hip is a bit feminine.... but that is proly about it. the pointing at the ass is a tad weird too but anyone with a grasp of depth will realize whats going on. good job mate. you got my vote hands down.

An awesome sense of space (with exception of the gun up the backside) on Gadget's piece takes the vote for me here. Popninja's is quite excellent as well though.

If you took the face from Popninja's Iron fists and put it on gadgetwk's you would have a perfect drawing.

Both are very nice, but I give the edge to gadgetwk.
