So I wasnt sure if i should make a whole new thread about this or just reply in the one in the break room, so if a mod wants to merge it they can.

I, er...."obtained" this book from Barnes and Nobles yesterday. Let me begin by saying that I wanted to see this movie before. Now I REALLY want to see it.

For those of you who say "Eisner would be rolling in his grave at this movie" you guys dont understand the relationship that Miller and Will had. I think that he would really dig what Frank is doing. He isnt being slavish to the material or anything like that...He's just having fun.

Now about the book...There isnt enough storyboards for me, but there are still alot. This goes with a warning thoug. if you arent a fan of Miller's art post 300, you arent going to like the work in here. His art has strayed farther from illustration and more towards just plain cartooning, and I think its a blast to look at, but i know some people will disagree. the art makes me wish he would draw a spirit comic. His inks are a joyous mish-mash of chunky brush lines and scratchy pen hatching. His pencil stuff looks incredible. He throws alot of white paint around too and overall you can tell he really had fun with this movie.

The book wastes a lot of time *a bit too much, IMO* in the second half by just showing a ton of "girl pics"-that is, shots of eva mendes, scarlett johansen and all the other girls in the movie in their costumes and promo ads. Which i guess is par for the course for a movie book, but i wanted more storyboards lol. It is pretty extensively written, but i havent gotten a chance to read it all yet.

overall id give it a 8/10
