With the new Terminator movie approaching theres still one question about the series that's still gnawing at the back of my head:
What is Skynet or the Terminators going to do when they kill all human life? Maybe they explained that part of the plot at some point in the movie... but I was too busy focusing on the action violence.
Dose any who's a fanatic with the series know the answer?

If it's anything like the Dune inspired Butlerian Jihad, the whole goal of the machines is to remove humans as a threat to themselves. It's a weird bit of machine logic. Humans build machines to protect them and the machines realize that humans are their own worst enemy and thus must be eliminated.

I understand WHY they want to kill all humans. So they can ensure their own survival and what not.
What I want to know is what do they plan to do after they have killed every single human being.

Robot party.
Yep. With robot beer(which is just old crappy hydraulic fluid that slows their motor functions), and robot hookers with all their naughty ports exposed. It's gonna be soooo.....

I imagine they'd go on to expand, colonize the solar system and eventually the stars, all the while improving upon themselves and evolving. Although it's also possible they would convert all the matter in the solar system to computronium and build a Matrioshka Brain around the sun, where they might exist entirely in a practically infinite computer generated virtual space, and never physically go anywhere. It depends on who you ask.

I'm curious if they would still evolve with out people, humans only progress in case of need like war of competition but the machines might go just for the hell of it.

Asimov was an amazing writer. That story was great.

I think at some point they will blend the Matrix mythos and the Terminator mythos.
John Conner and co. will blot out the sky after the Terminators begin to rely on solar power for energy, and then they start sing humans as batteries.
And then Neo will make a deal with the baby-faced Mayor of Robot-Town.
