For those who don't know, Joss Whedon's put together a pretty neat little online musical comedy super hero web only show. But it's limited, small and will vanish quickly so go watch it.
http://www.drhorrible.com/index.html
It stars Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day.

Good stuff. Harris has really become one of my favorite funnymen over the past few years.

I heard this is pretty awesome. Apparently they crashed the servers in the first couple days. Haven't seen it, but I think I know what I'm doing today during lunch.

I've been trying to get into that site for 2 days now.
I guess that's a lesson for next time when Whedon comes up with something small and fun.
I hope they fix the server problems before they yank the free streams, or that they'll extend that periode.
[edit]ha ha, as soon as I hit submit reply I actually got into the site, what are the odds.

That was excellent.
Poor Dr. Horrible!
Also, did you catch the Dark Horse Presents minicomic linked there? Eric Canete's Dr. Horrible looks exactly like NPH.
Great find, xadrian!

Very, very awesome. I'm definitely going to catch the next two.
Better catch 'em while you can, kids, 'cause they stop being free after this Sunday. The next episode is Thursday, then the last one is Saturday.
Nathan Fillion is probably my favorite underappreciated actor. And NPH definitely deserves a comeback, he's been damn funny lately.

Part 2 rocked. Fillion plays the douche/jerkoff superhero so well, but seeing Harris sporting a Magnum 'stache at the soup kitchen killed me.

This thing is awesome. They're only 13 minute episodes, yet they have so many memorable hilarious things in it.
The thoroughbread of sin, ha ha. How do you come up with this stuff.
It's too bad the next episode is already the last.

Agreed. But you gotta think that as much love as it's getting Whedon would (should) seriously consider doing more.
And frak TV man, just to more shows online. A little product placement in lieu of commercials and you'll have effectively trumped every other web only show out there.

Now I'm curious to see what Whedon has to say at SDCC about the DVD, and specifially how much bonus material there will be on it. Not that I haven't already decided to get it.

Ditto... this stuff is seriously catchy. :D
I don't know if you can keep a musical running for a long series, but I desperately want more than three of these.
Which, I guess, is good show business. Always leave 'em wanting more...

Had to make a "The Hammer is my penis" shirt. That's just too funny to pass up. If they were smart they'd make one right now.

Well, that last act didn't really end like I thought it would.
Now I'm a little sad...poor Penny :(
They'd better make a sequel.

It ended the way it should have for an evil genius. Whedon is the man. From Buffy to Firefly to Astonishing X-men to now Dr. Horrible, the man is an unstoppable force of awesomeness, nay he's simply legen....dary. Bring on the DVD.

In hindsight the ending makes sense, but it really caught me by surprise.
For a webseries that's mostly fun and games and had me laughing throughout, it ended really downbeat. Didn't expect that. Especially since it ended so abrubt, it was a little similar to the ending of The Sopranos.
And oh my god, they killed Penny! I'm amazed that they were able to really make me care for these characters in just three short segments, that's good writing people.
Anyway, I still want a sequel.
Bad Horse is my new favorite villain.

Loved the ending. The last few minutes, with Billy's transition from two-bit wannabe to a full-fledged supervillain was a very satisfying conclusion.
The Evil League of Evil's members looked really cool. And really, because of the buildup, I would have been let down by Bad Horse's appearance no matter what he looked like, but that surpassed my expectations. Brilliant.
If they deliver with the DVD's "amazing extras" then I'll be sure to pick up a copy.
It's a shame this thread is only 26 posts long.
